We live in challenging times, and as business leaders we are besieged by offers of help and advice. What we really want to know is what others who are also running businesses like ours are doing and how they are facing up to the same challenges.

I know from my own experience that running a business is tough and never more so than in the current business climate and that leadership can be isolating.

Things Ain’t What They Used to Be!

Dear Sarah,

Since 2006, I have been a member of The North West Group of The Academy for Chief Executives. This unique organisation provides a confidential arena in which to take a helicopter view of the business, with advice and shared experience from other members, regular inputs from expert speakers as well as an experienced Chairman who keeps the group together.

We are now looking to expand The Group further
and I am hosting The Academy Group meeting being held on Wednesday 16th of September. The meeting will provide an opportunity for you to experience the special benefits of membership. It is being held at my company premises in Manchester and I would like to invite you to come along as my personal guest to be part of an “Academy Day”. It really is a very powerful experience.

This full day meeting will feature a morning’s interactive session from speaker, Jo Haigh, on “Things Ain’t What They Used to Be”. Jo is one of The Academy’s most highly rated speakers and will challenge you not only to survive but thrive. You will receive advice for instant action, longer-term strategy to future proof your business, take away templates to guide you through these tough times, how people build success and security in times of economic uncertainty and how to build a success mindset in your team.

After lunch there will be ‘The Board You Could Never Afford’® confidential issues session where attendees can benefit from the knowledge and experience of Academy members to explore and resolve individual issues in a safe, non competing, confidential peer group. (Confidentiality agreements are signed by attendees)

I know how much I and my business have benefited from Academy membership and the combined effect of a typical Academy day is inspiring and rewarding and you will no longer feel alone at the top. You will feel increased confidence and more empowered knowing there is a monthly opportunity of input from speakers on up to date management issues, and confidential support and advice available from fellow members.

Please call 0161 775 7563 to confirm your attendance or email claire.farley@chiefexecutive.com. If this date is unsuitable for you the next open meeting is on the 6th of October in Manchester City centre.

I do hope that you will join us, enjoy our hospitality and experience how to gain business advantages from experiential peer group learning with The Academy in the North West.

Yours sincerely NIGEL WILSON Chief Executive
